jNETRIX SYSTEMS CREATES INNOVATIVE TELECOM USAGE METRICS SERVICE WITH PACTOLUS SIPdev.org OPEN SOURCE TECHNOLOGIES
MARLBOROUGH, Mass., October 15, 2008 -
Pactolus Communications, makers of the industry’s most broadly-deployed SIP applications and service creation/delivery solutions, today announced the development and deployment of an innovative telecom service by Canadian telecom applications developer jNetrix Systems, based on Pactolus’ www.SIPdev.org open source/open access service creation environment. The service supports new levels of real-time usage control, and crystallizes usage patterns. It is the latest in a series of sophisticated, highly-scalable telecom service applications developed with Pactolus’ SIPdev.org service creation-centric open source framework/open access developer tools.
“The open source platform first used to build the service turned out to be overly rigid and lacking a service creation environment. It also sharply limited service functionality and scale, so we turned to Pactolus’ SIPdev for the freedom to create advanced business intelligence-driven telecom services,” said jNetrix Systems President Jeff Gibson. “As independent telecom service developers, we have to offer service providers, content providers and enterprises new and significantly better NGN service efficiencies, usability and economics. The service we’ve announced today incorporates real-time capabilities and intelligence that couldn’t feasibly be created with alternative open source/open access developer resources, and we went from concept to working prototype within weeks.”
SIPdev’s object-based SCE lets developers create any application that they can conceptualize, and is acknowledged as a more flexible alternative to IP PBX-centric developer resources. SIPdev’s RapidFLEX-based Service Creation Environment features more than 400 objects that simplify service creation and customization; its RapidFLEX-based Service Delivery Platform automatically protects IP voice & multimedia services by transparently integrating several key functions that are essential to sustaining call states.
Pactolus CTO and Founder David Horton summarized: “We are delighted to work with emerging NGN and Web service developers such as jNetrix, and applaud the team’s success in the growing field of business process-driven telecom services.”
